Be Bold, Be Fierce, Be Transformed

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Romans 12:2

Something profound happened to me a year ago.  I remember it happening so quickly I reflect in amazement.  Nevertheless, I am grateful that it did happen.  I know, I know, you are wondering what in the world am I talking about.  “It” happened. You know, that moment when you realize the dream kicking in you has fully developed and can no longer stay in the womb of your mind.  Yes, that moment when you realize if not now, never?   If not today, when? It happened to me while I was in my bedroom reading a magazine about a blogger that recently got published in the “O” magazine.  She spoke about her passion and how what she enjoyed has manifested into a beautiful creation reproducing itself in our world.  She was now living her dream.  I am sure it was not easy and I am sure she experienced many trials, obstacle and issues.  I am also sure that she kept on going.  Like her, I too had that moment and now a year later I am about to birth the baby that has been kicking in me for a while now.  Be Bold, Be Fierce, Be Transformed has been a growing fetus.  The passion of my purpose has allowed this baby to conceive and I knew it was time.  My “it” moment came.  In March of 2012, I will deliver.

Most of us have had many “it” moments, but as we set out in the passion and motivation we often get met with obstacles that are both external and internal.  One of the barriers that I speak about often in the book is the criticism of family.  I think those closest to you can get under your skin the most.  When they are so close to your heart and you care about their words because you are a representative of them, it’s hard to hear them say things that may not favor your current position.  Your dream stands vulnerable as your heart stands open.  Most people break under pressure and allow family criticism to cease them in the moment.  Being bold means breaking out with both passion and motivation. The key to add to your tool box is being both bold and fierce. Being fierce means being unstoppable, refusing to allow barriers, insecurities or external factors keep you from birthing your dream. It called the “still-born” of your purpose. If you keep it in too long, it will die within you.  It’s like having the drive to do something, then after a while, you just don’t want to do it anymore.  Don’t miss your opportunity. The world needs what’s on the inside of you to come out but you will be met with opposition from yourself and from the world around you.  The transformula is bold + fierce = transformed.  Whatever it is that will try to stop you, remember, you must be fierce and be relentless! In the end, you will have gone through a major process and not recognize who you are as you will have been transformed. I like to think transformation as a continual process of going from one level to the next. Accomplish one dream and then another.  For more information on being bold and being fierce, follow me on twitter @beboldbefierce Book is due out in March 2012.

December is right around the corner and yet another year as gone by at such a fast rate.  Every year around this time, I get excited about the next year.  I feel like it is a great time to look back and be thankful for all that you made it through, the blessings that you were given and the simple things in life like laughing with family and friends.  It’s important to always be grateful for what you have and to never under estimate each season of your life.  I never want to take for granted the gift of life, health, love or food to eat and a place to call home.  Many are experiencing tough times right now, but we must always remember that God is never out of control.  He has it all worked out even when we don’t think He does.  Just think back in 2011 when you had no idea how things were going to work it and somehow it did.  God is amazingly merciful and graceful to us, even when we don’t deserve it. It is my prayer that you may know God more, that you will come into the FULL understanding of His love for you. It’s like none other and you will never regret decision to follow God completely and entirely. Give Him 100%.   Make a decision today that 2012 will be greater.  You will make wiser decision and you will live life after God. Life after God is an abundant full life! Take the limits off in your mind, so that at the end of 2012 you will look back and say. 2012…Wow!

Our Love on the 24th

Have you ever experience a love that transcended anything you ever felt on this human level? A love that made you felt was a direct gift from God to you on the earthly level.  When I first experienced our love I cried for two weeks. Call me emotional, but that’s how I felt when the purity of this man’s heart embraced me.  I remember crying in worship every day after meeting him, because the many months and years before I longed for the companionship and love that I now felt.  God had not forgotten about me.  He poured his heart out to me and in our first two conversations I literally felt the presence of God.  It was as if, God was saying “It’s okay to love freely”.  I had been broken hearted in a few relationships before this and had allowed myself a chance to just heal.  Once God allow Deon to come into my life, the love has transformed the experience of living into a realm I never knew existed.  Deon is an amazing man, with an amazing heart and each day I am with him, his love grows more and more and my love for him continues to rise. On the 24th we will celebrate 6 months.  The 24th happens to be Thanksgiving and what more could I be thankful for than the theme of this year, finding true love.

Thank you baby to loving me and all my flaws.  I can be difficult at times, but you care for me with gentleness and your peaceful spirit ministers to my heart. I am so thankful who you are and all that you are. I pray God continues to show me the best way to love his honored vessel in you. I pray to God that as we grow closer to Him, we grow closer to each other in this season of our lives.  I have never felt what I feel from our love. Our love…I’ll never forget our love on the 24th. Happy 6 months….waffle cakes! J

I noticed one thing recently while working on a project.  When my mind is free and clear of clutter, confusion, and I allow peace to reside, I get really creative and thoughts start to flow.  Could it be that one of the greatest robberies of all time is the robbery of our peace? Not only are we not able to be at rest in our mind, but God is unable to give you strategic vision and keen thought so that you may make the right decisions and hook up with the right people.  Yesterday something profound happened to me as I was trying to solve a problem. Because my mind was at peace, the solution came to me so easily that I could not believe I did not see it right in front of my face. I had been overlooking the solution to my problem for over a month now. I am surprised by this because what if I missed it. This solution literally will save me over tons of time and about $500.  I thank God for showing me creative ways to get His will complete.

I encourage you to release whatever that is bugging you, causing you not to sleep at night and any negative confusion in your life to cease.  It is robbing you each and every moment of great things that are right in front of your face. It could be great people that you are overlooking, or an awesome opportunity. Whatever it may be, its for you, but the real estate in your mind has been taken up by unnecessary nonsense.  Evict those thoughts today, and given peace a home to stay.  Love you and God Bless!!

5 Ways to Renew Your Passion

1. Museums – If you find a good one, its a great way to find inspiration. I think true art reproduces itself in the minds and hearts of other artist as they gaze upon a beautiful creation. (My poetic twist) I recently went to the Dallas Museum of Arts and thought for a moment that I would just admire the art, but something else happened. I left with an immense feeling of inspiration and I immediately wanted to dance, write and get out of me what was stirred up on the inside.

2. Water – Find a river, ocean or lake. Allow yourself to sit and think. For some reason the sound of water calms the soul. When your soul is calm you can think and hear clearly.

3. Attend a motivational/inspiration conference that will teach you a NEW skill. I recommend it being in the field of your passion rather than your occupation. More things will begin to come to you when your passion is stirred.

4. Pray – God created you and He knows exactly how you function. I think prayer is a great way to ask God to show you signs into your identity. You are the best you when you function in your “lane”. That is the way the creator made you and not how you think people want you to be.

5. Exercise – Have you ever felt “blah” before exercising and after you felt like you could conquer the world. Exercising is a great way to get your blood flowing. As your blood starts to flow, you will get more oxygen to your brain and your whole body. When you feel better, you think better, and you are able to continue on your current endeavors or start brand new. It’s never to late, too old or too wrong to start new!
