Don't Jump

I always try to find relevant and interesting pictures to go along with my blog post. I think some of us are more visual.

As I was talking to a friend recently they reminded that the devil is not a creator, he's a manipulator. So as I thought further, my friend says he manipulates what's inside of you, your identity.

I told him that I would use it in my blog because think about the many times, we make decisions, react to people, get emotional and/or say something because of how the situation seems. It kinda goes into my blog on perception. ( a few post earlier)

Now imagine a person standing on the ledge in the picture above. Somehow the adversary was able to manipulate them into thinking it was all over, but in reality, a crisis is an notification of a future blessings.

I look at this picture and I see hopelessness on fire. I've been there and I'm so grateful that God sent his Spirit to my apartment one day a few years ago and told me to LIVE the best is yet to come. It had to be God himself as I was in such a broken place I needed a divine touch and healing from God.

I'm praying that you know that everyone goes through and has struggles. Don't jump off of what the adversary has manipulated you to believe. Conceive what God has destined your full potential to receive.

Remember...God is the creator, he loves you so before you give up, think and don't jump.

A Destiny of death

Simple concept. To reach your God given destiny it will require us to die to our desires, flesh, pride and longing to be seen. We must display and promote the God of our salvation and relax in Him know that all things will work together.

For some this is a call to step your game up, but for others like myself this is a call to relax and embrace the calmness of life. Each moment we are given is precious. If you are running so fast always focused on what's next you and me will never appreciate the gifts that God wants us to see and acknowledge everyday. It may not be in the storm, fire or the wind, but in that still small voice.

Shhh....can you hear him?

If not, it's time to die.

The Glass Door

Have you ever went through something time and time again and realize that you were unconsciously repeating a pattern? In the beginning you were oblivious to the action but after around the third time that resulted in some type of setback, hurt or pain you realize, I have a problem.

The crazy thing is you look ahead and know exactly how to overcome this barrier, but like a glass door without a handle you run head first into a barrier over and over again. It's like there a destination / destiny that you see within your reach but as you move forward you realize something unseen is standing between you and that place.

After a long search external you realize, all barriers externally are removed so it must be something internal that is pulling from that forward movement. A lot of us struggle with issues that we are not quite sure why or where this struggle has stemmed from. What we do know is that after bumping our heads and having the scars to show for it, we need to change.

Herein lies the next glass door. Knowing that you need to change, knowing what you need to change, yet unable to bring yourself to a point to actually make a consistent change. It's called being out of self-control. I know I'm exposing myself but it's all in a effort to hopefully help someone. I'll disregard the hatred that will only look down upon me and try to use it against me. I pray my life and my struggles will help someone else recognize that God can and will deliver.

Someone told me recently that although we struggle and we even struggle with our struggle, God is sovereign. That statement blessed me because it showed me that despite my flaw, failures, and struggles he still chose me. The same goes for you. The world has one thing to say but The All Knowing God is Sovereign.

I don't have answer to your issues, but I know someone who does. Follow God will all your might and before you know it, The Glass Door must break.

Perception Can Be Dangerous

Yesterday I was reading on public relations and it stated that often perception is more important than reality because decisions both big and small are made off of what we perceive something to be. I think about social media such as Facebook, Twitter, etc and how we are the creators of a perceived world shaping how people view us online. How often does this carry over into reality as we place unrealistic burdens and expectations on ourselves to maintain that perception. I titled this blog "Perception can be dangerous" because people literally get depresses and stressed out after surfing Facebook blinded by what they see. Don't get me wrong it's important to maintain a reputation, but be careful not to get distracted in our internet world of social interacting that you forget what you perceive may not be reality.

Are you blessed?

Have you read the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 in the Message version lately? Well, if you haven't. Please do so asap!! It will bless you and help you answer the question am I blessed? Here it is:

Starting at verse 3

You're blessed when you are at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.

You're blessed when you feel you've lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are- no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourself proud owners of everything that can't be bought.

You're blessed when you've worked up a good appetite for God. He's food and drink in the best meal you'll ever eat.

You're blessed when you care. At the moment of being "care-full"; you find yourself cared for.

You're blessed when you get your inside world- your mind and heart - put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.

You're blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That's when you discover who you really are, and your place in Gods family.

You're blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you deeper into Gods Kingdom.

Not only that, count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me.

As Pastor Tim Ross says, "Eat that book!!"

Blessed Are The Poor In Spirit

To be poor in our traditional society means to be lacking and without the basic necessities to survive from day to day making life difficult and burdensome. When I read this passage today, I thought about being so empty in your Spirit that you NEED God like never before. How often have we been full and life was what we wanted it to be until things suddenly took a turn for the worse and after months of fighting to get back on top, we find ourselves empty. Poor in spirit, begging for something to fill the emptiness. When you are finally at that place that you realize no matter what I accomplish, how much money I make, who I know or what I did or plan to do, I AM NOTHING without my Savior. When your heart cries out and says, I need you God more than the air I breath, I need you. When you cry out like David and plead with God if He is to do anything, to not take His Holy Spirit from you, it is then that you are right were you are suppose to be. Truly and to the utmost BLESSED!
